The client ran their core banking operations on an IBM AS/400 platform—a robust, battle-tested system in active production, yet structurally isolated from today’s modern digital ecosystem. While they had a service layer exposed on top of that system (EG Central), it lacked active integration with digital money transfer platforms.

As a result, national money transfer processing relied on manual or non-digitized workflows. This created significant operational friction, processing delays, and an unnecessary administrative burden on their members.

Beyond the technical hurdles, time was a critical factor. The client was locked into a firm production launch date with their money transfer platform (Bre-B). They needed an integration partner capable of moving at the speed of business, without risking the stability of the core system currently running in production.
